Sigrid Van Den Houte I Pioneered at leading Belgian broadband provider Telenet

…who in 2010 played a leading role in launching a whole new pioneering approach to the mobile market. Seeing customers being confused by and lacking trust in the current leaders, Telenet introduced an entirely contract-free and so tie-in-free offer for all, based on just two price points rather than the more usual 25 or so. They were called King and Kong. Share went from the 2.5% achieved 2 years after original market entry to 18% in just 6 months, when the established competitors all decided they had to copy. Telenet got to 23% share by 2013 and applied the approach back to broadband, taking away contracts and naming the two plans Whop and Whoppa in a similarly pioneering spirit.
